1.1. Creating a PDF file
To convert a document into a PDF file, you will need to have the PDF Creator software loaded on your computer. The full version of Adobe Acrobat will convert a document to PDF, but will need to be purchased by your Department. PDF Creator is an open source application, which means it is available at no cost to your Department. If you would like this software installed on your computer, please submit a computer problem.
- Create the document as normal (in Word, Excel, Open Office, etc.).
- When finished, click on File > Print.
- For the printer name, click on the down arrow and choose PDFCreator.
- Click on Ok.
- PDFCreator will bring up an additional screen. Fill in the information and click on Save.
- The next screen will ask you where you want to save the PDF file. Choose your folder and then click on Save.
- Your document is then converted to a PDF file.
